Most of the employees have a pension fund to secure their future after their retirement. There are multiple occasions when an employee switches the job, he/she can use the same pension account. However, in case if the employee does not get another job, he or she may apply for withdrawal of funds. In this manner to claim the benefit without losing the membership with Employee Pension Fund (EPF) the employee files an EPF Form 10C.
(1) Any Member
(2) Any member,
(3) Relatives or legal heir or nominee any member died after attaining the age of 58 years but not completed 10 years of service.
Here is the list of benefits available: (i) A member falling in category 1 and 3 above, will apply for withdrawal benefits. (ii) A member falling in category 2 above, is qualified only for Scheme Certificate. In the case of 2(b), if the member is eager to accept the reduced rate of pension, he is qualified to apply in Form 10D. (iii) A member who left service on account of any permanent disablement is qualified for pension and he/she needs to apply in Form 10D.
(i) Service period with the past employer will be considered on taking up work in another company.
(ii) In case if the member doesn't take up work and dies before attaining 58 years of age, his family can get a family pension. In case if he/she survives, he gets the withdrawal benefits.
The applicant needs to fill the following details in EPF Form 10C:
(i) Name
(ii) Unique Account Number or Pension Number
(iii) PAN (iv) AADHAAR Number
(iv) Date of birth
(v) Date of joining and leaving
(vi) Purpose behind leaving
(vii) Father’s Name or Husband’s Name
(viii) Bank Account Number
(ix) Full Postal Address All the points that are mentioned-above needs to be filled in with no strikes or over-writing.
If there are any amendments, the same shall be attested by any of the following persons:
(i) Magistrate
(ii) Gazetted Officer
(iii) Post/ Sub-Post Master
(iv) President of the Village Union or Village Panchayat, when the Union Board is not present.
(v) Chairman/ Secretary/ Member of Municipal/ District Local Board.
(vi) Member of Parliament/ Legislative Assembly.
(vii) Member of Central Board of Trustees/ Regional Committee of EPF.
(viii) Bank manager in which Savings Bank account is maintained.
(ix) Head of any recognized Educational Institution.

The applicants need the attach the below-mentioned documents with the EPF Form 10C
(i) A blank or canceled check
(ii) Date of birth certificate
(iii) In case of death member's death certificate
(iv) Certificate of succession, in the event that application is made by the legal heir
(v) The revenue stamp of 1 INR needs to be attached to the EPF form 10C.
