Q1. I want to know the site using which we can generate the e-way bill?

Ans. e-Way Bill portal is the portal using which you can generate e-Way Bill easily.

Q2. What should I do in case I am not receiving OTP on my mobile number?

Ans. In case if you are not receiving OTP on your mobile you need to verify if you have activated DND Don Not Disturb on your number. Moreover, the service provider network may also be busy. However, you can also use the OTP received on your e-Mail ID.

Q3. How should I proceed if the e-Way bill portal is taking the time to open?

Ans. In case if the e-Way bill portal is taking time to open you need to check your internet connection. In case if the internet connection is working fine the site must not be reachable due to maintenance.

Q4. What should I do if the e-way bill portal homepage is breaking or not showing properly?

Ans. In case if the e-Way Bill homepage is breaking of not showing properly, then in such case you need to check whether your system has the browser version as prescribed by the e-way bill portal. It shall be noted that the e-Way Bill portal opens without any hiccups on

(i) Internet Explorer 11 or above (ii) Chrome 45 or above (iii) Firefox 43.5 or above.

Q5. What should I do if I forget my user-name and password?

Ans. In case if you do not remember your user-name then in such a case use Forgot Username facility. Similarly, in case if you do not remember your password, use the Forgot Password facility provided. After this, the user just needs to enter certain details and authenticate the same with the OTP received on the registered mail-ID or number To know the user-name or password.

Q6. What should I do if the system is showing an Invalid username or password error?

Ans. In case if the e-Way bill system is showing Invalid username or password error this means you are using incorrect user-name or password or both. You just need to verify the user-name and password using which you are trying to login to the system. In case if you do not remember any of them, you just need to follow the steps mentioned above in the Q5.

Q7. What should I do if the system is showing ‘Your account has been frozen’ error?

Ans. In case if the e-Way Bill system is showing ‘Your account has been frozen’ error then there might be a possibility that your GST registration has been de-activated on the GST Common Portal.

To find the status of your GSTIN visit the GST Portal (www.gst.gov.in). In case if you are able to log on to the GST portal but not on e-Way Bill portal, you need to submit your grievance at https://docs.ewaybillgst.gov.in/html/Contactus.html
Q8. What should I do if the system is showing ‘Your account has been blocked…Please try again after 5 minutes’ error?

Ans. In case if the e-Way Bill system is showing ‘Your account has been blocked. Please try again after 5 minutes’ error that must have used incorrect user-name or password for more than 5 times at the time of logging into the e-way bill system. Which is why the e-way bill system has blocked your account for security reasons.

Q9. Why does the transporter need to enroll on the e-way bill system?

Ans. Any transporter who wants to move the consignment from one state to another needs to obtain the GSTIN and enroll on the e-way bill portal. Once they get enrolled on the e-Way Bill portal they will receive the 15 digit Unique Transporter Id.

Q10. ‘PAN details are not validated’ error is showing whenever I am trying to enroll on the e-Way Bill portal. What should we do?

Ans. In case if the transporter is getting PAN details are not validated at the time of enrolling on the e-Way Bill Portal that means the PAN name and Number, entered by you, are not correct. Verify and re-enter the exact name and number mentioned on your PAN Card.

Q11. The e-Way Bill Portal is saying you are already registered under the GST system, whenever, I am trying to enroll as a transporter. What should I do?

Ans. In case if e-Way Bill Portal is saying you are already registered under the GST system, whenever, this means you are a registered taxable person with valid GSTIN. You just need to use this GSTIN to enroll on the e-Way bill portal instead of PAN Card number and name.

Q12. Is it possible to extend the validity of the e-way bill?

Ans. Yes, the validity of the e-Way Bill can easily be extended providing that the consignment has not reached to the destination within the validity period due to any of the reason:

(i) Natural calamity (ii) Law and order issues (iii) Trans-shipment delay (iv) Accident of conveyance, and so forth. However, the transporter needs to mention the reason at the time of extending the validity period of the e-Way Bill.
Q13. How to extend the validity period of the e-way bill?

Ans. There is an option to extend the validity period of the e-Way Bill on the portal. However, it shall be noted that the validity can be extended before 4 hours and after 4 hours of expiry of the e-Way Bill. Here, the transporter will enter

(i) the e-way bill number (ii) enter the reason for the requesting the extension, (iii) Current place (iv) Approximate distance to travel (v) Part-B details However, the details of Part-A cannot be changed. He will get the extended validity based on the remaining distance to travel.
Q14. Whether the e-way bill can be canceled? If yes, under what circumstances?

Ans. Yes, the e-way bill can be canceled if either product is not transported or are not transported as per the details furnished in the e-way bill. Moreover, it shall be noted that the e-way bill can be canceled within 24 hours from the time of generation.

Q15. Who can reject the e-way bill and Why?

Ans. The person who causes the transport of products will generate the e-way bill specifying the details of another person as a recipient of consignment. There is a facility on the portal for the other party to see the e-way bill generated against his/her GSTIN. As the other party, one can communicate the acceptance or rejection of such consignment specified in the e-way bill. However, this acceptance or rejection is not done within 72 hours from the time of e-way Bill generation or the time of delivery whichever is earlier…it will be deemed that the other party has accepted the e-Way Bill.
